Nifty ends at 1-month closing low, underperforms broader markets

On Wednesday the end of the day , Equity benchmarks extended losses for the sixth consecutive session, led by losses in technology, FMCG and select banks stocks. Nifty opened above 8100 but was unable to sustain the same and lost momentum towards the end of trading hours. Sensex also closed in red and was down 0.25% at 26242.38. Even in a lean session amid holiday mood, the domestic market logged its longest losing streak of the year. Not good tidings as you gear up to usher in a New Year.
