Sensex drops 266 pts, Nifty holds 9,800; Auto stocks fall

Indian shares cut losses in late trade on short covering for a fourth consecutive session on Thursday, led by losses in financials and auto stocks.

The BSE Sensex Index was down 266.51 pts or 0.84% at 31531.33 and Nifty50 index fell 87.80 pts or 0.89% to 9,820.25. About 6 shares fell for every share advancing on the BSE.

The Nifty Auto index fell 2.2%, its biggest percentage loss in more than two months. Stocks of Eicher Motors, Tata Motors and Motherson Sumi Systems pulled the index down.

The stocks of Financial companies resumed their decline with the Nifty Bank index going down 0.5 percent and the Nifty PSU bank index losing 1.9 percent.

The Equity Market closed at the red note with the range bound trading session today. investors digested GST driven higher and awaited June quarter earnings that will begin next week. Sensex dragged 11.83 points at 31,209.79, lower by banks, auto, infra and FMCG stocks. However, the buying in index heavyweights Reliance Industries, HDFC, and Infosys capped downside. NSE Nifty success to managed to hold 9,600 level, fell by 1.70 points at 9,613.30. The broader markets closed flat with a negative note due to balanced breadth. About 1,349 shares advanced against 1,315 declining shares on the BSE. 

Reliance, HDFC, Infosys, Adani Ports, and NTPC were the top gainers, while Axis Bank, Hero Motocorp, Dr Reddys Labs, ITC, and Cipla were the lost most in the Sensex.

The Equity Market continued to close on lower note for the second consecutive day, due to the mixed global signals. the market was under pressure leads in losses in Havey Weights shares, Reliance, ITC, HDFC, ONGC, was showed selling under pressure today. that's why Sensex declined 124 points at 30,834 and Nifty fell 20 points at 9491. The market breadth was negative as 1274 shares were advanced, 1339 shares declined and 180 shares were unchanged on NSE. 

Reliance and Asian Paints were the top losers for the day, while Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra and Yes Bank gained the most.

State Bank of India declined as much as 2.1 percent. It had fallen 3.2 percent on Today. Reliance Industries Ltd down as much as 2.5 percent, its biggest intraday percentage loss in three months, and was the biggest drag on both the NSE index and the BSE index. The stock had risen 32.8 percent this year as of Tuesday’s close.

Sensex drag 119 pts; Nifty belove 9700, Stock Tips Tomorrow

Before the RBI meeting, the domestic stock market closed with a red note on Tuesday. Remaining the IT sector, all sector seen in the under pressure on the benchmarks. The of the day, Sensex ended with 119 point decline, at 31,119. while Nifty was down 38 points at 9637. Sensex slipped 258 points from the top level, and Nifty slipped 79 points. The market breadth was negative today, 450 shares were advanced,  1109 shares were against, and 56 shares were unchanged benchmarks. 

BSE Midcap index was down 0.62 percent at 14732, whereas BSE Smallcap index was trading down 0.65 percent at 15310.53. 

TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Dr Reddys Labs, and Adani Ports were the top gainers, whereas Tata Motors, NTPC, ONGC, ITC, and Larsen were the lost most.

Sensex closed at all time high; Nifty above 9650

The Equity market ended at the all-time high on Friday, BSE Sensex closed at 31273.29, higher by 135.70 points or 0.44%. NSE Nifty-50 index closed at 9653.50, higher by 37.40 points or 0.39%.   BSE Midcap Index closed up 0.72% at14801.48 whereas, BSE Smallcap closed up by 0.50% at 15311.17. There were 1458 advancing stocks, against 1232 declines. A total of 163 shares unchanged. 

GAIL was the major Nifty loser, while Hero MotoCorp was the top Nifty gainer. Hero Motocorp, Cipla, Adani Ports, Wipro, and HDFC were the top gainers, while GAIL, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, HUL, and Larsen were the major losers in the Sensex.
