The Equity market gained for third consecutive session. Nifty ended at fresh 13 - month closing high on Tuesday. Nifty was hovering 8,800 an intraday trade. Sensex gained 440.35 points or 1.6 percent at 28343.01. Nifty was up 136..90 points or 1.59 percent at 8744.35.
About 1214 shares advanced, 1472 shares declined, and 202 shares were unchanged.
The broader market surged record to closing high, BSE midcap index rose 0.80 at 13168.39 and BSE smallcap index gained 1.02 percent at 12626.09.
Bharti Airtel falls over 3 percent. Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Maruti Suzuki, GAIL, and HDFC Bank were the top gainers. While Bharti Airtel and BHEL were the major losers in the Sensex.
