On Wednesday, BHEL reported 54.2 percent rise in net profit to Rs 77.7 crore for the June quarter ( financial year 2017 ). the company had reported a net profit of Rs 50.4 crore in the corresponding quarter of the financial year 2016.
BHEL's Total income increased 28.7 percent to Rs 5622 crore during the quarter in the financial year 2017. While the last financial year, it was Rs 4,368 crore.
In the first quarter of the financial year, BHEL's EBITDA improved to Rs 71 crore. While the first quarter of the financial year 2016, EBITDA loss of Rs 183 crore. BHEL's EBITDA margin was at 1.3 percent on the annual basis.
In the First quarter, BHEL's other income fell 49.2 percent to Rs 249.3 crore against Rs 491.2 crore YoY.
During the period, BHEL's power business increased Rs 3290 crore to Rs 4335 crore. While its Industrial business grew Rs 1385.7 crore against Rs 1131.2 crore.
Its power business EBIT was Rs 310 crore against Rs 215 crore in the first quarter (YoY). While Industrial business EBIT grew Rs 84.8 crore versus Rs 2.9 crore. BHEL's outstanding order book was Rs 1.08 crore till June 2016.
