On Monday, The equity benchmarks opened at the flat note. Sensex trading marginally higher at 28600 and Nifty above its crucial resistance level of 8,800 supported by gains in metals, oil & gas, power, realty and bank sector.
Sensex is trading at 28706.48, up 107.45 points or 0.38 percent. It touched a high of 28,714.77 and touched a low of 28,552.55 in morning trade. Nifty gained 39.90 points or 0.43 percent at 8817.05. It touched a high of 8,822.35 and touched a low of 8,774.20 in early trade.
About 765 shares have advanced against 228 declining shares. The Indian rupee opened at 66.95 per dollar, higher by 3 paise on Monday versus 66.98 Friday.
The broader market trades in the green note. BSE midcap index rose 0.57 percent at 13125.33. BSE smallcap index gained 0.59 percent at 12840.75. Bank Nifty trading at 19913.30, higher 0.29 percent.
