Stock in the news | Nifty above 8700

On Thursday, the equity market opened on a flat note. Sensex trading marginally above 28300. Nifty trading above its crucial support level of 8700. 

Sensex trading at 28382.82, higher 10.75 points or 0.04 percent. It touched a high of 28,432.74 and touched a low of 28,311.11 in morning trade. Nifty trading at 8729.75 , up 3.15 points or 0.04 percent.  It touched a high of  8,749.20 and touched a low of 8,704.35 in early trade. 

The market breadth positive as about About 1165 shares advanced against 836 declining shares on the Bombay Stock Exchange. 

BSE midcap index index seeing red note. BSE midcap index down 0.24 percent at 13094.14. While BSE smallcaps index gained 0.29 percent at 12747.80. 

Bank Nifty down 0.55 percent at 19800.05. The Indian rupee has opened at 66.88 a dollar compared with 66.89 a dollar in the previous session.

Gainers - Cipla 2.12%, ITC 1.83%, HUL 1.23%, Sun Pharma 1.19%, Lupin 0.92%.

Losers - Axis Bank 2.46%, Hero Motocorp 1.98%, Tata Steel 1.74%, ICICI Bank 1.03%, Larsen 1.02%.
