On Tuesday end of the day, Equity benchmarks closed in the red note. The market starts in flat and closed without gains. Nifty fell to hold its crucial support level of 8,800.
Sensex was down 111.30 points to 28523.20. Sensex opened at 28,690.66 and touched a high of 28,698.81 and touched a low of 28,480.53 in intraday trade.
Nifty fell 32.50 points or 0.37 percent at 8775.90. Nifty opened at 8,816.10 at touched a high of 8,816.45 and touched a low of 8,759.30 in intraday trade.
Bank Nifty loses 0.27 percent at 19852.30. The broader market also closed without gains. BSE midcap index was marginally down 0.09 percent at 13120.60. BSE smallcap index declined 0.26 percent at 12797.66.
Sensex Gainers - ONGC 1.48%, Tata Steel 1.08%, Cipla 0.70%, Maruti Suzuki 0.53%, Lupin 0.39%.
Sensex Losers - Hero Motocorp 2.43%, Adani Ports 2.16%, Bajaj Auto 1.96%, Bharti Airtel 1.59%, NTPC 1.22%.
